I have worked in the healthcare field over the last 12 years. During those years I have often heard from families about how confusing and complicated it is navigating through the maze we call healthcare when trying to help loved ones.
I decided it would be helpful to clarify the entire process, making it easier and less stressful for families by sharing information, resources and knowledge. This web site will focus on the initial hospitalization down to the eventual discharge “home”, with the primary focus being on the home environment. “Home” potentially being a variety of settings other than the patient’s true home. These settings include: Long Term Care, Assisted Living, and Board and Care. I feel this step-by-step process, flowing from facility to facility is the best way to make information easier to understand. If anyone would like to add information such as quality vendors, equipment or any other resources, please contact me. Lastly- I do not endorse any of the listed vendors or agencies; the web sites and contact names and numbers are of those vendors and agencies with whom I have come into contact in the course of my work. Additionally, I reserve the right to select and limit listings in this web site. This web site should not take the place of seeking advice from your family member’s healthcare providers nor should it take the place of seeking legal advice. With that said, I hope this web site provides you with the groundwork for getting through the healthcare maze for seniors and their families. Marty Delucchi, P.T.
